Choosing the right tree

We like to keep our selection of trees simple and easy to choose from.

Choosing a tree is based very much on personal opinion and the type of Christmas you and your family enjoy.

Fraser Fir

The Low Needle Drop Fraser Fir is the number one christmas tree in the USA and is becoming very popular here in the UK. It has an erratic growth that has to be cut back each year, this helps to give it its dense appearance. The needles are short and green in colour with an attractive blue coloured underside. They are also soft to touch making them an ideal tree for a family to decorate. Another advantage is their slim width making them a suitable christmas tree for use in a confined space.

Nordman Fir

The Low Needle Drop Nordman Fir is undoubtedly the UK's most popular christmas tree. With strong layered branches its symmetrical shape and long soft needles its easy to see why it is No 1. Just like the Fraser Fir the Nordman Fir is a family friendly tree. However, unlike the Fraser Fir the Nordman Fir tends to be wider at the bottom, for an average 6ft tall tree you will need a 5ft space to fit it in.

Norway Spruce

For people who prefer the traditional British Christmas tree the Norway Spruce is probably the best option and at a lower cost. This christmas tree will really remind of you of years gone by, its full shape at the bottom and layered branches at the top will bring back good memories. We would recommend that the Norway Spruce is used in an outdoor location where it won't dehydrate as this tree can if mistreated suffer from needle drop. The needles are short, thin and prickly to touch and can cause a mild skin irritation.
